As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen
industry–academia collaboration, Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD) has signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading bedding manufacturer Karmo
Group of Industries, a press release said.
Through the partnership, UCBD and Karmo Group will
collaborate on initiatives that promote experiential learning, industry
engagement, internships, and career development, equipping students with
practical skills, professional exposure, and greater career readiness.
The MoU was signed by Kingshuk Gupta, Chief Operating
Officer of Universal College Bangladesh, and Diwan Shahriar, Director of Karmo
Group of Industries. Shah Yousha Ahmed, General Manager, Corporate Relations at
Universal College Bangladesh, attended the signing ceremony along with senior
representatives from both organizations.
Kingshuk Gupta, Chief Operating Officer of Universal
College Bangladesh said, “The classroom builds knowledge, but industry
experience builds confidence. Our partnership with Karmo Group will give
students valuable exposure to the workplace and help them graduate better
prepared for the demands of today’s job market.”
Diwan Shahriar, Director of Karmo Group of Industries,
said, “Industry and academia must work together to develop talent that can
adapt and contribute from the start. We are pleased to partner with Universal
College Bangladesh to help students gain practical insights and real-world
experience.”
The collaboration reflects UCBD’s continued commitment to
building stronger connections between higher education and industry, creating
learning opportunities that prepare graduates for an increasingly dynamic and
competitive workforce.
