To provide some relief to consumers facing increased
pressure from rising prices of essential commodities, Shwapno, the country’s
largest retail chain, has introduced special discounts on a range of essential
products. The initiative is aimed at enabling consumers to purchase various
everyday necessities at reduced prices, apress release said.
The special discounts are available across Shwapno outlets
on a range of essential products, including milk, flour, soybean oil, rice bran
oil, salt, rice, lentils, potatoes, onions, noodles and detergent, among
others.
Under the special offer, 500g Fresh Milk Powder is available
at Tk 420 after a discount of Tk 60, while 1kg Fresh Milk Powder is priced at
Tk 825 after a discount of Tk 125. Similarly, 1kg Pusti Plus is available at Tk
800 after a discount of Tk 150, while 2kg Pusti Atta is available at Tk 95
after a discount of Tk 35. 2kg ACI Pure Atta is being offered at Tk 105 after a
discount of Tk 25.
Consumers can also enjoy discounts on cooking oils. 5L
Rupchanda Soybean Oil is available at Tk 955 after a discount of Tk 20, while
1L Rupchanda Soybean Oil is priced at Tk 196 after a discount of Tk 3.
Meanwhile, 5L ACI Nutrilife Rice Bran Oil is available at Tk 1,040 after a
discount of Tk 120, and 5L Fortune Rice Bran Oil at Tk 1,050 after a discount
of Tk 160.
Among other essential food products, 1kg Fresh Salt is
available at Tk 34 after a discount of Tk 8. Loose Miniket Rice is priced at Tk
55 per kg after a discount of Tk 5, while Jirashail Miniket Rice is available
at Tk 58 per kg after a discount of Tk 14. Local Onion is priced at Tk 48 per
kg after a discount of Tk 7 in Dhaka Division, while potatoes are available at
Tk 25 per kg after a discount of Tk 5. 1kg Masoor Dal is also available at Tk
90 after a discount of Tk 10.
The special discount offer also extends beyond food items to
essential household products used on a daily basis. 49g WOW! Masala Instant
Noodles is available at Tk 99 after a discount of Tk 76, while 1kg RIN Power
Bright is priced at Tk 175 after a discount of Tk 20. 1kg Wheel Clean &
Fresh is available at Tk 150 after a discount of Tk 15, and 1kg Mr. White
Detergent Powder is being offered at Tk 120 after a discount of Tk 80.
The initiative has been introduced considering consumers’
everyday needs and the prevailing market situation, Shwapno said. The
initiative aims to ease some of the financial pressure on consumers by creating
savings opportunities on important products that are regularly purchased for
household needs.
