upay, the mobile financial service (MFS) of UCB Fintech company limited, a subsidiary of United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has entered into a strategic partnership with Natural Indigo Limited, one of Bangladesh’s leading ready-made garment (RMG) manufacturers, to provide secure and convenient digital payroll services to its employees, a press release said.
Under the partnership, employees of Natural Indigo Limited will receive their salaries through upay’s mobile financial services platform, enabling faster salary disbursement and easier access to their earnings. The initiative aims to make payroll management more efficient while providing employees with a seamless and secure digital payment experience.
The agreement was signed by Shyamol B. Das, Managing Director and CEO of upay, and Abdul Quader, Managing Director of Natural Indigo Limited, on behalf of their respective organizations.
At the signing ceremony, Javed Ahmed, Director (Operations) of Natural Indigo Limited, was present. Representing Upay was Sajjad Alam, Head of Corporate Business. Also present at the event were Md. Nuruzzaman, General Manager of RMG Business, and Shahbaj Talat, Senior Executive Vice President of UCB and Head of the RMG Division, along with other senior officials from both organizations.
Through this initiative, officials from both organizations expressed their expectation that digital financial services will become more accessible to Natural Indigo’s employees, while also increasing the use of digital transactions in the ready-made garment sector.
