A two-day training workshop titled “Technical Usage of Community Feedback Platform (CFP)” has been organized in Bera Municipality of Pabna to improve the quality of citizen services, ensure transparency and accountability.
The workshop was inaugurated on Thursday (August 6) morning at the Bera Municipality Auditorium. The program was organized by Bera Municipality under the ‘Digital Democracy Initiative’ and with the joint support of “Accountability Lab”, CIVICUS, DDI South Asia and Bangladesh Rural Economic Development (BRED).
Bera Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Bera Municipality Administrator Runalt Chakma were present as the chief guest at the event, chaired by Bera Municipality Executive Officer SM Rejaul Karim. The special guests were Shamsul Islam Chowdhury Sajeeb, Convener of Bera Press Club, and SKM Rashedul Islam, Social Development Officer. Twenty volunteers participated in the workshop as trainees. Various officials, representatives and technical team members of the local administration also participated in the workshop.
At the event, the main technical aspects of the ‘Community Feedback Platform (CFP)’ of the project titled Community Led Urban Accountability Through Digital Engagement (CLUE), platform management and the right ways to receive feedback from the public regarding services through digital means, and digital literacy and safe internet usage were presented in detail by BRED’s Project Manager Khan Md. Muzahid Ibne Habib. The entire workshop was conducted by Project Officer-Municipality A.H. A. Giffari.
In his speech as the chief guest, Runalt Chakma said, “By launching this digital platform, citizens of Bera Municipality will be able to easily reach out to the authorities with any of their problems, opinions, and recommendations. This will increase the administrative accountability of the municipality and enable them to provide citizen services in the fastest possible time
