Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has started a month-long mobile phone servicing training program in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj to create self-employment opportunities for the youth of the border area by making them skilled and keeping them away from criminal activities including smuggling.
The training program was inaugurated at the 'Border Digital Skill Center' located in Shahbazpur Union Parishad. 25 selected youth from the border area are participating in it.
The training will provide theoretical and practical training on hardware and software fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance and modern mobile servicing of mobile phones.
At the inauguration ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Commander of Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB), said that the main goal of this initiative is to create self-employment opportunities for the youth of the border area by turning them into skilled human resources. At the same time, this training will also play an important role in keeping them away from various criminal activities including smuggling.
He said that the BGB will continue such public welfare programs in the future for the social and economic development of the border area.
Local public representatives, dignitaries and senior BGB officials were present at the event.
BGB officials hope that through this training, it will be possible to increase the work skills of the youth of the border area, create self-employment and play a positive role in preventing smuggling.
