Barishal : Marking International Human Duties Day, JCI Barishal successfully launched its flagship employment initiative, “Bridge to Career 1.0,” at Hotel Kingfisher, Barishal. The half-day project, held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., brought together more than 330 graduate and postgraduate students from different educational institutions with the objective of preparing them for successful careers.
Unlike a conventional career seminar, Bridge to Career 1.0 is designed as a long-term employment project. Its primary goal is to equip young job seekers with the practical knowledge, professional skills, confidence, and mindset required to secure employment, perform successfully in the workplace, and build sustainable careers. JCI Barishal aims to support participants throughout their employment journey—from career preparation and job placement to professional growth—and plans to continue this initiative over the next five years for the youth of Barishal.
The program featured practical sessions on Bangladesh's current job market, career planning, CV and résumé writing, interview techniques, professional communication, corporate etiquette, workplace ethics, leadership, soft skills, and career advancement strategies.
As part of the project, participants submitted their CVs to JCI Barishal's Employment Partners—Platinum Group, Angena CP, Idea Space, SMG Online TV, Lotto, Bhaiya Housing, and Inspire Method. These organizations will review the applications, shortlist eligible candidates, conduct interviews, and recruit qualified applicants based on their skills, qualifications, and organizational requirements.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Professor Md. Akter Uddin Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Political Science, Government Brojomohun (BM) College, Barishal, and M. M. Tarikuzzaman, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Government Brojomohun (BM) College, Barishal.
Special remarks were delivered by Barrister Farzana Akter, Local President of JCI Barishal, and Kibria Sarwar, Vice President of JCI Barishal.
The keynote session was conducted by Md. Akter Hossain, Executive Vice President of JCI Barishal and Head of Business, Platinum Group. Drawing on his corporate experience, he provided practical insights into the evolving job market, employer expectations, career readiness, professional development, and the competencies required to succeed in today's competitive workplace.
Through Bridge to Career 1.0, JCI Barishal reaffirms its commitment to bridging the gap between education and employment by creating a sustainable platform that connects talented graduates with career opportunities and empowers the next generation of professionals in Barishal.
