Grameen Health Care Services Ltd. (GHS) and Seva Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the sidelines of Social Business Day 2026, marking a new chapter in a partnership that has transformed eye care in Bangladesh for more than two decades, a press release said.
Under the new MOU, Seva Foundation will provide support together with global clinical and operational expertise, to advance four strategic goals: transforming one million lives by expanding access comprehensive eye care across Bangladesh; building local capacity through the training and development of healthcare professionals, with a particular focus on students of the Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing (GCCN); strengthening infrastructure by introducing global best practices and advanced technologies; and reaching underserved communities by establishing new Vision Centers and expanding services for women, children, and remote populations, including free sight-restoring surgeries.
Seva Foundation will continue supporting capacity building, the establishment of Vision Centers, the development of pediatric eye care services, the expansion of cataract surgery programs, and other initiatives that strengthen sustainable eye care delivery across Bangladesh.
This renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to eliminating avoidable blindness and ensuring that every person, regardless of income or location, has access to quality eye care.
