The Narayanganj Sadar Upazila administration organised a reception for meritorious students who secured scholarships in the primary scholarship examination from educational institutions across the upazila.
The reception was held on Monday morning (September 21) at the SadarUpazilaParishad auditorium. SadarUpazilaNirbahi Officer (UNO) S M Foyez Uddin presided over the programme, while Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Md. RaihanKabir attended as the chief guest.
During the reception, the scholarship recipients were presented with crests and certificates in recognition of their achievements. Students, guardians, teachers and officials from various government departments of SadarUpazila were present at the event.
Addressing the programme as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Md. RaihanKabir said, “These young children will build the Bangladesh of tomorrow. Receiving a scholarship means greater responsibility. You have to become not only good students but also good human beings.”
He further said students should learn morality, humanitarian values and patriotism alongside their academic studies. “Stay away from mobile phone addiction and concentrate on your studies. Your achievements will illuminate Narayanganj as well as the entire country,” he added.
