A day-long training programme for farmers on the
production of commercial and export-oriented crops was held in Narayanganj Sadar
upazila under the Agricultural Development Project of the Dhaka region for the
2026-27 fiscal year.
The training was held on Tuesday at the conference room of
the SadarUpazila Farmers’ Training Centre.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural
Extension (DAE), Narayanganj, A.Z.M. Ahsan Shahid Sarkar, attended the
programme as a trainer.
District Seed Certification Officer Ashrafuzzaman,
Additional Deputy Director (Plant Protection) Mohammad ZahirulHaque,
SadarUpazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist MahmudaHasnat, and Additional
Agriculture Officer Mst. RupaliKhatun were also present at the training
programme.
Agriculture Extension Officer Shanta Islam Naurin served
as the course coordinator.
Organised by the SadarUpazila Agriculture Office, the
training was attended by a total of 30 farmers, including both male and female
farmers, from different areas of the upazila.
During the training, the participants were given practical knowledge on the production of commercial and export-oriented crops, modern agricultural technologies, crop disease and pest management, and various techniques for increasing crop production.
