The primary candidate list has been published ahead of the executive board elections 2026-2028 of the country’s top IT sector organization, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS). The elections will be held on September 26. And 26 candidates have been nominated to contest in this election, a press release said.
The primary candidate list was published by the Ministry of Commerce last Thursday (August 27).
According to the primary candidate list, four people are contesting for the post of BASIS president. They are - Raphael Kabir of DNS Software Limited, Mostafa Rafiqul Islam of Flora Telecom Limited, Iqbal Ahmed Fakhrul Hasan of Divine IT Limited and AKM Ashraf Uddin of Decent Act International.
Three candidates have been nominated for the post of senior vice president. They are - Saiful Islam Siddique of ICC Teleservices Limited, Nur Mahmud Khan of Right Brain Solutions Limited and Anisul Haque Bhuiyan of Tech Terrain IT.
Hasnain Md. Riyad (Smart Lab) and Md. Musnad A Ahmed (Skytech Solutions) have been nominated for the post of Vice President-Admin.
Three candidates are contesting for the post of Vice President-Finance. They are - Tania Sultana of Synergy Interface Limited, Taufiqul Karim Suhrid of Fingerprints Innovations Limited and Tanzil Abedin of Trends Bird Limited.
The maximum number of candidates is 10 candidates for the post of General Director. They are - Md. Jewel of Trust IT BD Limited, Sumach Mohammad Tarek of BD Task Limited, Apel Mahmud Khan of BZM Graphics Limited, Md. Abdur Razzak Rupam, Delwar Alam of BugsBD Limited, Arefin Rafi Ahmed of Pulse Tech Limited, Abdullah Al Mamun of Primex Information Systems Limited, Ferdous Alam of Atova Technology, Md. Rashedul Islam of E-Medical Software Limited and Md. Fuad Hasan of Red Sparrow Limited.
Three are contesting for the post of Associate Director - Syed Shafiul Alam (B Data Solutions Ltd.), Md. Jubazer Real (Sysmatrix Technologies Ltd.) and Ahmed Arman Siddiqui (Grameen Healthtech Ltd.).
Meanwhile, the only candidate for the affiliate post is Sumaiya Islam (Creato Design Research Lab Ltd.). However, no candidate has submitted nomination in the ‘International Category’ out of the 11 director posts.
Tania Islam, Deputy Secretary (Export-1) of the Ministry of Commerce, is serving as the chairman of the election board. The board members are Deputy Secretary (Export-2) Nasrin Sultana and Deputy Secretary (Export-3) Mohammad Zakir Hossain.
If everything goes well, the BASIS Executive Board elections for the 2026-2028 term will be held on September 26.
