“Healthy Dad, Safe Family”— Keeping this slogan in mind, the capital’s Universal Medical College Hospital hosted a reception for the 5 selected winning children and their fathers of the month-long digital story-writing campaign ‘Babaar Kagere’ organized on the occasion of World Father’s Day. Today, Monday, August 17, 2026, a special reception was organized in a casual atmosphere in the hospital’s meeting room located in Mohakhali, the capital.
5 winners were selected from among the numerous heart-touching stories submitted in the campaign expressing love, memories and feelings towards their fathers. The selected winners are: Sumaiya Jahan (father: Ahmed Hossain; Brahmanbaria), Lucky Akhter Seema (father: Montaz Uddin Akand, Gazipur), Taiyyaba Tasbin Lamia (father: SM Ataur Rahman, Narayanganj), Fariha Ridila (father: Farukul Islam, Mymensingh) and Kazi Milha (father: Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Dhaka).
At the event, the winners and their respected fathers were presented with special gifts and a complete ‘Free Health Checkup Package’ along with other gifts. Along with this package, a special health card was provided for the fathers through which they and their families will get special benefits on priority basis in all the necessary healthcare services of this hospital. The main speaker of this event was the renowned poet, former president of the National Board of Prothom Alo Bandhushab and Director of the Daily Agamir Somoy newspaper – Club and Welfare – Saiduzzaman Rawshan (Dantyas Rawshan).
The Managing Director of Universal Medical College Hospital and the main organizer of this event, Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, Head of Corporate Neeta Chakraborty, senior officials of the hospital, eminent doctors and invited guests were present at the event.
The speakers said that it is the moral responsibility of every child to ensure the good health of the family's banyan tree father.
