Eye treatment has reached the doorsteps of the common people in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj. A new sub-center of the Eye Hospital has been inaugurated in Shibganj, especially considering the poor and helpless people of remote areas including the char areas of the Padma.
On Saturday (July 11), the ribbon was cut at the Shibganj Water Supply Intersection and the MP of Chapainawabganj-1 constituency Dr. Keramat Ali formally inaugurated this sub-center.
The inaugural ceremony was organized by the Bangladesh National Blind Welfare Association, Chapainawabganj District Branch. The program was presided over by the President of the organization's district branch, Principal Nazrul Islam. Md. Abdul Hakim – General Secretary, Bangladesh National Blind Welfare Association was present as a special guest.
Professor Dr. Mazharul Islam Toru – Principal, Adina Fazlul Haque Government College.
Dr. Mamun Kabir – Assistant Professor, Shibganj Upazila Health Complex.
Md. Ashraful Alam Rashid – BNP leader and prominent businessman.
Alhaj Md. Yusuf Ali – President, Shibganj Industrial and Commercial Association.
Local dignitaries were also present at the event.
The speakers at the event said that for a long time, many helpless people of Shibganj were deprived of advanced eye treatment due to lack of money and distance. With the launch of this sub-center, they will now get the necessary treatment near their homes. They referred to this initiative as not only a medical center, but also a unique example of humanity. The speakers also called on the wealthy of the society to come forward for such service activities.

This center will be open from 8 am to 2 pm every day. Patients can receive eye treatment services for a fee of only 100 taka.
After primary treatment, patients will be sent to Chapainawabganj District Eye Center as needed.
If patients need surgery, treatment will be arranged in Rajshahi at a limited cost.
Completely free treatment and surgery has been arranged for helpless and destitute patients.
Local common people and patients have appreciated this humanitarian initiative. They hope that this new eye sub-center in Shibganj will end the long-standing medical crisis in the area and people in remote areas will easily get advanced eye treatment.
