Bangladesh Bank honors UCB for employment contribution

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has been honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by Bangladesh Bank in recognition of its significant contribution to the Supporting Post COVID-19 and Small Scale Employment Creation Project, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), a press release said.
The recognition was formally presented at a dissemination seminar recently held at Bangladesh Bank. The certificate was handed over to Adnan Masud, Additional Managing Director of UCB, by Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank.
The seminar was attended by senior officials from Bangladesh Bank, UCB, and implementing partners, including Manoj Kumar Howlader, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank; Ali Sabet, Team Leader of GFA Consulting Group; Md. Ridwanul Hoque, SEVP & Head of Distribution & Strategy, UCB; and Mohammad Salim Chowdhury, FVP & Head of SME & Agri Banking Division, UCB, among others.
During the implementation of the project, UCB extended financing support to hundreds of small enterprises, contributing significantly to job creation and the country’s economic recovery. Bangladesh Bank acknowledged UCB’s contribution to the successful implementation of the project and its role in promoting inclusive finance and enterprise development.
