
COX'S BAZAR : A thrilling edition of the Beach Football Tournament (Boys'
and Girls' Under-15) 2026 concluded at Kolatoli Sea Beach in Cox's Bazar, with
Chattogram Division emerging as the dominant force by winning the championship
titles in both the boys' and girls' categories.
Organised by the Directorate of
Sports with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the tournament ended
with Chattogram defeating strong Mymensingh Division sides in both finals.
The final matches, held on June 12
at the beach adjacent to Divine Eco Resort, drew enthusiastic crowds and
created a festive atmosphere. In the girls' final, Chattogram secured a
hard-fought 1-0 victory over Mymensingh to lift the title. Chattogram later
completed the double by overcoming Mymensingh in the boys' final as well.
Individual awards were also
presented to outstanding performers.
In the boys' category, Rakibul Islam
of Chattogram was named Man of the Final, while Abu Rahat of Mymensingh
received the Man of the Tournament award. Tahamid Ahammad Noor of
Chattogram finished as the tournament's highest scorer with four goals.
In the girls' category, Subarna
Chakma of Chattogram was adjudged Man of the Final, while Jannatul Mawa
of Chattogram earned the Man of the Tournament award. Moza Rimi of
Mymensingh claimed the highest scorer award after netting seven goals during
the tournament.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md
Aminul Haque handed over the trophies to the champions as the chief guest
at the closing and prize-giving ceremony. The event was chaired by Md Mahfuzul
Alam Khan, additional secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
According to the organizers, the
enthusiastic response from sports-loving spectators in Cox's Bazar and the
passion shown by the young footballers will help further popularise beach
football in the country. They believe the tournament has inspired a new
generation with the values of energy, competition and ambition through the
unique setting of football on the sandy shores of the Bay of Bengal.
