The Banshkhali Police Station in Chittagong conducted a special operation and arrested two drug dealers with 4,000 pieces of Yaba tablets and a motorcycle.

​Today, Friday (June 5, 2026) at 7:10 am, they were arrested during a search at a special police checkpost set up on the paved road in front of the main gate of Banshkhali Police Station in the Jaldi area of ​​Ward 07 of Banshkhali Municipality.

​The arrested accused are:

​Mahbub Alam (35): Father- deceased Ahmed Hossain, mother- deceased Zohra Khatun.

​Md. Parvez (24): Father- Moktar Ahmed, mother- Jahanara Begum.

(Both of them live in Islamnagar area of ​​Ward No. 7 of Koiyarbil Union of Chakaria Police Station in Cox's Bazar district.

According to police sources, a check post was set up in front of Banshkhali Police Station this morning as part of a secret information and regular search. At that time, a suspicious motorcycle was stopped and the bodies of the two people riding it and the bags with them were searched. During the search, 4,000 pieces of Yaba tablets, which were very cleverly hidden, were recovered from a bag in their custody. At the same time, the police seized 01 motorcycle used for drug transportation.

According to police sources, the arrested accused had been collecting drugs from the border areas of Cox's Bazar for a long time and supplying them to different areas of Chittagong. Preparations are underway to file a case against them under the Narcotics Control Act and it is being investigated whether anyone else is involved in this drug shipment.
