BRAC University, IDCOL partner to build energy workforce

BRAC University and Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and deliver professional and executive education programmes for Bangladesh’s growing energy and infrastructure sectors, a press release said.
The partnership brings together the academic and research strength of BRAC University’s Centre for Energy and Logistics (CEL) and IDCOL’s long-standing expertise in infrastructure financing and sustainable investment. The first programmes are expected to focus on: Project finance, Financial modelling, Solar PV project design and implementation, Supply chain and logistics operations, with an emphasis on AI and green logistics
The MoU also sets out a broad framework for collaboration in education, research, professional development, knowledge exchange and industry engagement.
As Bangladesh expands its infrastructure and accelerates its transition to clean energy, demand is rising for professionals who can plan, finance and deliver complex projects. The programmes aim to meet that need with practical, industry-relevant training, in line with BRAC University’s commitment to linking learning with real-world practice.
“As BRAC University completes 25 years, partnerships like this carry our mission beyond the campus,” said Ariful Islam, Treasurer, BRAC University. “By combining CEL’s research with IDCOL’s field experience, we can equip professionals with the skills Bangladesh needs for a sustainable, energy-secure future.” The MoU was signed at BRAC University’s Merul Badda campus.
