
Bengal Commercial Bank PLC. has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Nagad, the mobile financial service of the Postal Department, to make digital financial transaction services easier, faster and more convenient for its customers. Under this agreement, Nagad’s Trust Cum Settlement Account with Bengal Commercial Bank along with various digital financial services including Add Money, Remittance, National Payment Switch Bangladesh (NPSB), will become faster and more seamless for the customers, a press release said.
The agreement was signed on Sunday, 23 August 2026 at the head office of Bengal Commercial Bank in Gulshan, Dhaka. K. M. Awlad Hossain, Managing Director of the Bank and Md. Motasem Billah, Administrator of Nagad (appointed by Bangladesh Bank), signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The partnership is expected to expand business activities between the two organizations and make digital financial transactions more convenient for customers. In addition to Add Money and NPSB services between Bengal Commercial Bank and Nagad wallets, remittances sent by expatriate Bangladeshis through Bengal Commercial Bank will be delivered by Nagad to their families in different parts of the country more easily and quickly.
At the same time, the partnership will simplify customer integration and onboarding processes for both organizations, enabling more people to access digital financial services. As a result, the initiative is expected to play an important role in promoting cashless transactions across the country.
Speaking at the event, K. M. Awlad Hossain, Managing Director of the Bank said, “This strategic partnership will make digital financial transactions easier, faster and more secure for our customers by creating greater opportunities for deposits and loans. At the same time, this initiative will play an important role in expanding remittance flows and promoting cashless transactions.”
Md. Motasim Billah, Administrator of Nagad said, We want financial institutions like Bengal Commercial Bank to utilize Nagad’s extensive network to offer services such as nano loans, EMI facilities, DPS and other financial solutions. I believe this kind of collaboration will truly help the country move forward towards a cashless economy.”
Nasim Sekander, AMD and CBO of the Bank; Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, DMD and CTO of the Bank; Probal Ahmed, ACA, Nagad’s Senior Associate Administrator and Afzal Ahmed, FCA, CFO of Nagad were also present at the event along with senior officials from both institutions.
