Coast Guard opens Vidyaniketan school in Chattogram

The ‘Coast Guard Vidyaniketan’, built by the Bangladesh Coast Guard at its own initiative in Ichanagar, Chittagong, has been inaugurated.
The Vidyaniketan was inaugurated on August 19, 2026, by the Director General of the Bangladesh Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Md. Ziaul Haque, OSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, MPhil.
The President of the Coast Guard Family Welfare Association (CGFWA), senior officials of the Coast Guard, teachers, students and guardians were present at the inauguration ceremony.
At the ceremony, the Director General said that the ‘Coast Guard Vidyaniketan’ has been established with the aim of ensuring a safe, modern and quality educational environment for children. This institution will play an important role in creating better educational opportunities for the children of the local people as well as the members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard.
He also said that the future of a child is built with a combination of quality education, morality and values. By developing these qualities, the school will play a role in shaping students into capable and responsible citizens in the future.
Later, the Director General of the Coast Guard toured various parts of the school and gave necessary guidance to those concerned to improve the quality of educational programs.
As part of the program, a tree plantation program was held in the school premises. Later, prayers and supplications were held for the development and prosperity of the country and the bright future of the students.
Bangladesh Coast Guard said that such public welfare initiatives will continue in the future to ensure good education and a bright future for children.
