
Direct interviews and on-the-spot recruitment create employment opportunities for job seekers
With the aim of creating direct connections between job seekers and employers and developing a skilled workforce aligned with the changing demands of the country’s labour market, the nextjobz Career Summit & Job Fest 2026 was held on Tuesday at the Krishibid Institution in Farmgate, Dhaka, a press release said.
Organized by nextjobz, the day-long event brought together more than 100 employers, industry experts and thousands of job seekers from different sectors under one platform.
Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, secretary and executive chairman of National Skills Development Authority, Prime Minister’s Office attended the event as the Chief Guest. Shoeb Hassan, Chief Business Officer of nextjobz Limited, addressed the program. Among others, Md. Afsar Uddin, Chief People Officer of AKIJ Resource, Towfique Hasan, Chief Business Development Officer and Md. Aktarul Islam, Chief Business Officer of AKIJ AgriLife, were present at the event.
Addressing the occasion, Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury said, “Developing a skilled workforce in line with the current demands of the labour market is extremely important for us. Academic qualifications alone are not enough. Job seekers need to develop technical and professional skills relevant to the workplace, along with essential skills such as communication, leadership and problem-solving.”
She further said, “An integrated approach involving both the public and private sectors is necessary to effectively connect skills development, training and employment opportunities. Platforms like nextjobz can help job seekers learn about employment opportunities while also supporting them in identifying and developing the skills they need.”

A major attraction of the event was the direct interview and recruitment program. Against approximately 750 job openings, around 2,500 job seekers had the opportunity to participate in walk-in- interview with representatives of various organizations and receive employment offers.
The event also featured career guidance sessions by experienced professionals and prominent personalities, interactive activities, a raffle draw and opportunities for open networking.
The day-long program also showcased the activities of nextjobz Learning Lab, the skills development platform of nextjobz. Participants had the opportunity to learn about specialized training and certification programs. In addition, Next Resource, the headhunting platform of nextjobz, highlighted its payroll management and staffing solutions.
The event brought together participants ranging from students and fresh graduates to experienced professionals and senior-level executives. As a result, the program created an integrated platform connecting career preparation, skills development, recruitment and professional networking, helping participants better navigate the evolving employment landscape.
