He has carved out a growing presence in the digital space through music videos, dramas and diverse forms of online content.
For Farhan Ahmed Prottoy, the journey from creating online content to building a career in entertainment has been one of persistence, experimentation and continuous self-development. Today, he is looking beyond social media popularity, with aspirations of establishing himself as an entrepreneur as well.
“I feel more comfortable identifying myself as an entrepreneur rather than simply calling myself a content creator, because entrepreneurs can create employment opportunities for others,” Farhan says.
Born and raised in Comilla, Farhan stepped into the media industry at the age of 18. He began his journey as a blogger and TikToker, gradually developing his skills and experimenting with different forms of digital content. His growing interest eventually led him towards music videos and dramas.
His breakthrough came with the music video How Funny, which helped him gain wider recognition among audiences. He later earned further attention through Rupoboti Ek Meyer Preme Porechi, which has crossed 37 million views on YouTube. Farhan has since worked on more than 10 music videos and over five dramas, continuing to explore new opportunities within the entertainment industry.
However, his journey began with very modest resources.
Farhan says his fascination with the camera dates back to his childhood. While working abroad, he would often create videos with an elder brother. Although he initially remained behind the camera, the experience gradually sparked an interest in becoming a content creator himself.
“I slowly started learning how to make content. At that time, I did not have an expensive phone or a good camera. There were many limitations, but I kept working and tried to improve myself,” he says.
Saving money from his work, Farhan eventually purchased an iPhone 8. The device became an important tool in the early stage of his content-creation journey. His persistence began to pay off when one of his videos went viral, bringing him a level of public attention he had not anticipated.
“I never imagined that I would receive so much love from people in such a short time. When my first video went viral, I felt that all my hard work and countless sleepless nights had finally paid off,” he says.
Rather than becoming comfortable with his early success, Farhan says he has tried to use every project as an opportunity to evolve.
“With every project, I have tried to challenge myself, move away from my previous image and rebuild myself in a new way,” he says.
His ambitions now extend beyond the entertainment sector. Together with his wife, Farhan has ventured into business by establishing Samba Elite Beauty Lounge in Kandirpar, Comilla.
For him, the beauty lounge represents more than just a business venture. It is the result of a shared dream and a step towards building something that can potentially create opportunities for others.
“Today, I am not just a content creator; I am also an entrepreneur. My wife and I have built our dream establishment, ‘Samba Elite Beauty Lounge,’ in Kandirpar, Comilla. Today, it stands as a symbol of our love and dreams,” Farhan says.
Farhan’s career reflects the evolving possibilities available to young digital creators in Bangladesh. What started with simple videos and limited equipment has gradually developed into a multifaceted career involving social media, music videos, dramas and entrepreneurship.
His story is ultimately one of transition—from someone who simply wanted to appear in front of a camera to someone who now wants to build a platform of his own. As he continues to pursue new projects, Farhan appears determined to make his journey about more than personal success.
For him, the bigger ambition is to turn creativity into opportunity—not only for himself, but potentially for others as well.
