Robi Axiata PLC has rewarded 26 winners of its four customer engagement campaigns held to mark the Football World Cup. A special prize distribution ceremony was held on Tuesday (11 Aug.) at Robi’s head office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, a press release said.

Robi Managing Director & CEO Ziad Shatara, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Shahed Alam and Head of Marketing Md. Shawkat Kader Chowdhury, along with other senior company officials, attended the event and presented awards to the campaign winners.

As part of its World Cup activities, Robi streamed live matches on the My Robi app under the campaign slogan “World Cup On, You Could Be the Champion; on My Robi App” and organised a range of campaigns for customers across digital and non-digital platforms. It also ran product-based campaigns during the tournament.

Speaking at the event, Ziad Shatara, Managing Director & CEO of Robi Axiata PLC, said, “Our World Cup campaigns were designed to create a more engaging and enjoyable experience for our customers. At the ‘Quizmaster’ campaign, customers could take part in a football quiz every day throughout the World Cup through the My Robi app. Participants competed for the top positions on the leaderboard based on their scores and the time taken to earn them. 11 winners were selected based on the final leaderboard.

The ‘Photo in Front of Graffiti’ campaign invited customers across the country to take photographs in front of Robi’s World Cup-themed graffiti and share them as part of the competition. 11 winners were selected based on the number of reactions their photographs received.

The ‘Who Will Be Football’s Octopus?’ challenge involved predicting the results of World Cup matches. Participants predicted match outcomes in advance, with three winners selected based on the number of the fastest correct predictions.

Under the ‘Monthly Pack World Cup Campaign’, customers who purchased designated monthly packs could select their preferred team. The selected one of the Customers who chose Spain, the eventual World Cup champions, won the campaign’s grand prize—a Royal Enfield motorcycle. 

All 26 prize recipients—comprising 11 from the Football Quiz, 11 from the Graffiti Photo Competition, three from the prediction challenge, and the single grand prize winner—attended the ceremony accompanied by a family member.
