Riyadh Air, the Kingdom’s new national carrier, celebrated the arrival of its inaugural flight from Riyadh to Dhaka on the morning of August 8, marking the airline’s entry into the Bangladeshi market and its ninth official operating destination since operations began on June 10, 2026, a press release said.
The daily service is operated by Riyadh Air’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering premium seating, advanced in-flight entertainment and signature Saudi hospitality. The inaugural flight departed King Khalid International Airport (RUH) on August 7 at 21:20 and touched down at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) the following day, marking another milestone in the airline’s expanding global network.
The new route connects two major commercial centers and responds to strong demand for travel between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh on one of the Middle East’s highest-volume international corridors. According to IATA data, Bangladesh–Saudi Arabia ranked as the ninth-largest country-pair passenger market serving the Middle East in Q1 2026. Demand is underpinned by longstanding ties across trade, investment, tourism, cultural exchange and religious travel, alongside growing cooperation in energy, logistics, agriculture, technology and infrastructure.
As Bangladesh’s capital and commercial center, Dhaka is a key gateway to the country’s globally important apparel and textile industries, as well as its rich heritage, vibrant arts scene and distinctive cuisine. The direct service will provide Bangladeshi guests with greater convenience when travelling to the Kingdom for business, leisure, Umrah and Hajj, while offering Saudi travelers direct access to Bangladesh.
The service will operate daily in both directions, strengthening connectivity between Riyadh and Dhaka and supporting convenient onward travel through Riyadh Air’s growing network to key destinations, including Jeddah.
