An exceptional debate competition for IELTS students, officially launched on June 19 under the initiative of Abid Khan Shuvo, Business Development Manager of IELTS in Bengal. The main objective of the competition was to improve the Speaking and Writing skills of the students as well as to increase their logical thinking, confidence and effective communication skills.

At the beginning of the competition, 40 best debaters were selected through auditions. Later, 10 teams were formed from them and the main phase of the competition began. Mahfuz Sir, Nishan Sir, and other experienced teachers, who are popular IELTS teachers in Bengal, served as judges from the beginning.

In each phase of the tournament, the participants enlivened the competition with their logical speeches, analytical skills and fluent presentations. After continuous competition, the top four teams faced off in the semi-finals.  From there, Team Argentina and Team Morocco secured their place in the grand final.

Rashed Hossain, CEO of IELTS in Bengali was the chief guest and Managing Director Jobair Hossain was the special guest at the grand finale. Senior teachers of IELTS in Bengali served as judges. In a highly competitive and tense final, Team Morocco won the title of champion, while Team Argentina was the runner-up.

Taskia Islam Swapnil  was selected as the Standout Speaker of the Tournament for her outstanding performance, strong arguments and confident presentation throughout the tournament.

Team Morocco was awarded Cash of 10,000 Taka and Trophy as a prize. Team Argentina, the runner-up, received Cash of 6,000 Taka and Trophy.  On the other hand, Taskia Islam Swapnil was awarded Cash of 3,000 Taka and Crest as the Standout Speaker. In addition, certificates were given to all the contestants who participated in the final.

According to the organizers, Battle of Words – Season 2 is not just a debate competition; it is an effective platform for IELTS students to practice real language, develop critical thinking skills and build confidence. Such exceptional initiatives will continue in the future to improve the skills of students.
