Umar Faruq, a garment worker based in Gazipur, has won a gold necklace under ‘Har Na Mana Har’, a popular remittance campaign by Nagad, the digital financial service of the Bangladesh Postal Department. He received this gift as the fourth winner of the ongoing campaign, a press release said.

Umar Faruq won the prize through a raffle draw after receiving remittance sent by his younger brother, Tarif Mia, who works in Malaysia. On behalf of Nagad, popular actress Runa Khan paid a surprise visit to Umar Faruq’s workplace at a garment factory in Tongi, Gazipur, to hand over the gold necklace. Notably, three other winners have already received gold necklaces before him.

Launched on May 15, 2026, to encourage sending remittances through legal channels, the ‘Har Na Mana Har’ campaign will continue until August 31, 2026. Under the campaign rules, customers receiving a minimum of BDT 10,000 or more in remittance through Nagad via legal channels are automatically entered into the process for a chance to win a gold necklace.

Overjoyed upon receiving the gift, Umar Faruq, a native of Netrakona, said, “My brother regularly sends money from Malaysia through legal channels, and I receive it very easily and quickly via Nagad. But winning a gold necklace alongside the remittance was beyond my imagination. This initiative by Nagad has brought immense joy to our family.”

Aiming to boost remittance inflows through legal channels and bring smiles to the families of expatriates, this offer will remain active until August 31, 2026. During this period, Nagad remittance recipients will have the opportunity to win more gold necklaces.
