UCB employees stand by flood victims

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) employees have stood by the country’s flood-affected people. UCB employees donated one day’s salary for the flood victims. Through this fund, relief has been distributed recently in various affected areas including Chattogram and Bandarban, a press release said.
Days of heavy rainfall have caused flooding in various parts of the country, including Chattogram and Sylhet. This has resulted in damage to homes, livelihoods, agricultural land, and infrastructure.
UCB employees took part in distributing relief among flood-affected people in the Gohira area of Raozan, Chattogram. Chairman of the executive committee of UCB PLC Md. Tanvir Khan was present and handed over relief materials to the flood victims.
Alongside Raozan, UCB employees have stood by affected people in various flood-hit areas across the country. Relief has been delivered to the victims under the bank’s corporate social responsibility policy.
To ensure transparency and effectiveness, relief materials were procured locally and delivered directly to affected families through the bank’s branches in the respective areas. The relief packages were prepared and distributed based on actual needs assessed on the ground.
UCB has always considered standing by people affected by natural disasters as an important part of its social responsibility. The organization has stated that it will continue such initiatives in disaster response and rehabilitation efforts in the future.
