The Bangladesh Coast Guard has arrested a drug dealer along with 1 kg of marijuana worth about 30 thousand taka in a raid in St. Martin, Cox's Bazar.

The Coast Guard Station St. Martin conducted the raid based on a secret tip-off in the area adjacent to St. Martin Jetty Ghat at around 6 pm on Monday (July 20).

Coast Guard sources said that a search was conducted on a wooden boat coming from Teknaf Bazar Ghat to St. Martin. At that time, 1 kg of marijuana worth about 30 thousand taka was recovered from the boat. At the same time, a drug dealer was arrested.

The Coast Guard said that further legal action against the arrested person is under process.

The Bangladesh Coast Guard said that such raids will continue in the future to prevent the terrible spread of drugs.
