Apollo Hospitals Chennai organizes international CME at Dhaka's Apollo Clinic

Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, in association with Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi, Dhaka (Licensee: JMI Specialized Hospital Limited), organized an international Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on Sunday afternoon. Approximately 100 Bangladeshi medical students, postgraduate residents, and consultants attended the event, engaging in knowledge exchange with renowned international experts across specialized surgical disciplines, a press release said.
The program was held at Apollo Clinic, Dhanmondi, and featured two focused sessions: “Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery” and “Precision Radiation Oncology in 2026: Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment.”
The keynote sessions were conducted by distinguished specialists from Apollo Hospitals, Teynampet, Chennai — Dr. Khader Hussain (Cardiac Sciences & Robotic Surgeon) and Dr. Shamsudheen C. (Radiation Oncologist), who shared their expertise in their respective fields. The event was chaired by Dr. Tamjeed Alam, CEO of Apollo Clinic, Dhanmondi.
The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished Bangladeshi medical experts, including Prof. Dr. A.H.M Shamsul Alam, a specialist in General and Laparoscopic Surgery; Prof. Dr. Md. Ehteshamul Hoque, an expert in Radiotherapy, Immunotherapy, and Palliative Cancer Care; and Dr. Md. Arifur Rahman, a specialist in Radiotherapy and Oncology.
This CME highlighted the growing collaboration between Bangladesh’s leading healthcare brand, JMI Specialized Hospital Ltd., and Apollo Hospitals, one of South Asia’s most prominent healthcare providers. Apollo Hospitals currently operates over 76 hospitals and more than 700 clinics across multiple countries, playing a significant role in advancing healthcare services.
The primary objective of this institution is to provide reliable, world-class healthcare services to Bangladeshi patients without requiring them to travel abroad, while gradually positioning Bangladesh as a destination for medical tourism. During the event, the notable achievements of Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi were highlighted, including serving more than 13,000 outpatient (OPD) patients, treating over 1,200 inpatient (IPD) cases, successfully performing more than 750 surgeries, and maintaining a surgical site infection rate of less than 1%.
