Energypac Power Generation PLC recently organized a Fire
Safety Awareness Campaign at Dhanua High School in Sreepur, Gazipur, to
strengthen fire safety awareness among students, teachers, parents, and school
staff, a press release said.
As part of the campaign, a hands-on fire safety training
session was held recently on the school premises. Conducted by Mahadi Hasan,
Senior Manager, HSE, Energypac Power Generation PLC, the session provided
practical guidance on fire prevention, emergency response, life safety, the
proper use of portable fire extinguishers, and safe evacuation procedures
during emergencies.
Around 310 participants, including students, teachers,
parents, and guardians, attended the session. Through interactive
demonstrations and practical exercises, participants gained first-hand
experience of essential fire safety techniques, helping strengthen preparedness
within the school community.
The initiative comes at a time when fire safety remains a
critical public concern in Bangladesh. According to the Fire Service and Civil
Defence (FSCD), the country recorded 27,059 fire incidents in 2025—an average
of approximately 75 incidents each day. Electrical faults remained the leading
cause of these fires, underscoring the importance of improving public
understanding of fire prevention, safe electrical practices, and emergency
response.
By equipping participants with practical knowledge and
emergency response skills, the campaign sought to encourage safer practices and
foster a stronger culture of fire safety within the community.
Energypac Power Generation PLC remains committed to
implementing meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that
promote public safety, sustainability, and community development across
Bangladesh.
