The National Sports Council (NSC) has approved a
seven-member ad-hoc committee of the NarayanganjSadarUpazila Sports
Association, with UpazilaNirbahi Officer (UNO) Foyez Ahmed as convener and Riad
Mohammad Chowdhury, organising secretary of Fatullah Thana BNP, as
member-secretary.
The approval was issued through a government order signed
by Md. Daulatuzzaman Khan, NDC, Executive Director of the National Sports
Council, on August 24, 2026.
The ad-hoc committee was approved under the powers vested
in the National Sports Council in accordance with the relevant provisions of
the National Sports Council Act, 2018, and the constitution of the local sports
association.
Under the approved committee, the UNO of
NarayanganjSadarUpazila will serve as the convener by virtue of his office. The
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fatullah Model Police Station, Upazila Women and
Children Affairs Officer, Upazila Youth Development Officer and Upazila Social
Services Officer have been included as members.
National-level athlete Md. Sohel Rana has also been
appointed as a member, while sports organiserRiad Mohammad Chowdhury will serve
as the member-secretary.
According to the NSC order, the ad-hoc committee will take
necessary steps to arrange an election of the local sports association within
the stipulated period in accordance with its constitution.
