At the helm of this conglomerate is Alhaj Md. Mojibor Rahman, a distinguished son of Kushtia and a nationally acclaimed industrialist.
He has been recognized as a Commercially Important Person (CIP) on several occasions and has received national gold medals from the President and the Prime Minister for his contributions to the industrial sector and national exports. Md. Mojibor Rahman, the visionary behind the BRB Group—which has played a significant role in creating employment and bringing honor to the nation—has dedicated his life to his work.
Despite facing numerous challenges, he has remained steadfast with iron-willed determination. He stands as a living testament to the fact that persistent, diligent, and honest effort inevitably leads to success.
He founded BRB Cable Industries Limited on October 23, 1978. By consistently maintaining high product quality, the company has grown beyond the confines of the country to gain recognition worldwide. By utilizing modern global machinery and advanced technology, and by maintaining strict quality control, BRB Cable Industries—a manufacturer of electrical wires and various other products—not only meets domestic demand but also exports its goods to international markets. The company has earned ISO certification for its production standards and quality assurance. Furthermore, it has achieved a global ranking of 33rd among 3,000 cable companies worldwide—placing it within the top 50—thereby setting an exemplary standard and enhancing Bangladesh’s reputation on the global stage.

On Friday, the company stands as one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of electrical wires and cables. Its product portfolio includes everything from domestic cables to 33kV HT PVC and XLPE cables, 132kV aluminum conductors, FRLS (Fire Retardant Low Smoke) cables, jelly-filled telephone cables, and electric fans. A recent expansion by the BRB Group includes the establishment of a 100MW power plant under its own management. Within this facility, an 11MW generation unit is dedicated specifically to meeting the electricity requirements of the group’s own industrial plants.
This oil-based power plant, operating under the name “BRB Energy Limited,” utilizes three state-of-the-art dual-fuel generators imported from the Japanese company, Daihatsu. Among the various industrial enterprises under the BRB Group, Kiam Metal Industries—which produces aluminum cookware, non-stick kitchenware, pressure cookers, rice cookers, and hot pots—has garnered a significant response and earned high acclaim from consumers in the domestic market. Simultaneously, MRS Industries produces and markets copper wire rods, aluminum wire rods, and copper strips—serving as import substitutes—utilizing up-casting and continuous casting technologies. Through these operations, the BRB Group not only earns foreign currency but also contributes to the nation’s socio-economic development and the overall national economy.
Furthermore, other units within the BRB Group manufacture particle boards and lamination boards (as alternatives to wood for furniture and interior decoration), as well as high-quality PVC pipes used for electrical conduits, water supply lines, and deep or shallow tube wells. These products have also gained substantial acceptance and appreciation among customers.
Currently, approximately 10,000 workers and employees are employed across the BRB Group’s industrial units.
Industrialist Alhaj Md. Mojibor Rahman states that his focus on industrialization stemmed from a vision for socio-economic development. Through his intellect, perseverance, and hard work in establishing these industrial units, the BRB Group has grown into one of the country’s largest industrial conglomerates.
In addition to these industrial ventures, the construction of the Selima Medical College Hospital—named after the wife of the BRB Group Chairman—is well underway in Kushtia. Once completed, the 15-story facility will provide healthcare services to patients from all socio-economic backgrounds, ranging from the underprivileged to the affluent. It is expected to become a state-of-the-art, premier medical facility serving both the northern and southern regions of Bangladesh. Additionally, the BRB Group has established another modern, high-end medical facility in Dhaka, known as BRB Hospitals Ltd. Md. Parvez Rahman, the eldest son of Md. Mojibor Rahman—Chairman of BRB Cable Industries Ltd.—serves as the Managing Director of BRB, while his younger son is the Managing Director of MRS Industries Ltd.
