Being a physician entails more than just treating patients or fulfilling hospital duties. Qualities such as leadership, creativity, communication skills, a strong personality, and a sense of social responsibility are equally vital for a doctor. The ‘Miss & Mrs. Doctor’ competition was launched with the aim of fostering these qualities and showcasing the talents that lie beyond a physician’s professional identity, a press release said.
The 2025 edition of this initiative saw the participation of physicians and medical students from various backgrounds across the country. Beyond demonstrating their competence, self-confidence, personality, and creativity, the participants gained new experiences and had the opportunity to connect with fellow medical professionals.
The core concept behind the competition was to create a platform where physicians could develop skills outside of their professional practice.
Following an extensive period of preparation and a series of preliminary rounds, the grand finale will take place on October 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Le Méridien Dhaka. The Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, will attend as the chief guest, while Dr. S. M. Ziauddin Haider, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Affairs, will be present as a special guest.
The panel of judges includes popular model and actress Bidya Sinha Saha Mim; debater, television presenter, and media personality Dr. Abdun Noor Tushar; physician, actor, and author Dr. Ejajul Islam; and Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, Managing Director of Universal Medical College Hospital.
A key highlight of the grand finale will be the final evaluation of the contestants and the announcement of the winners. The winners will be selected from the top ten finalists, and the achievements and standing of all other participants will also be recognized during the event.
For those who earn the winning crown, it will serve as a memorable recognition of their long preparation and hard work. Yet, even for those who do not win the crown, the participation, experience, and personal growth of every contestant remain an integral part of this journey. This platform has provided them with an opportunity to share their unique talents and stories of progress. Dr. Sheikh Soha served as the official coordinator for ‘Miss & Mrs. Doctor 2025’.
