Nurul Islam Saddam, Central President of Bangladesh Islami
Chhatra Shibir said that there is no alternative to consistency, discipline,
firm determination, and perseverance in realizing one’s dreams.
He made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at
an event organized by the Chattogram Metropolitan North unit of Bangladesh
Islami Chhatra Shibir on Tuesday at the ‘July Smriti Hall’ of the Chattogram
Press Club. The event honored approximately 500 meritorious students from
various schools and madrasas who had secured a position among the top ten in
their respective classes.
“A true dream is one that does not let you sleep,” said
Nurul Islam Saddam. He urged students to focus on regular study, the
acquisition of knowledge, self-reflection, and skill development to reach their
desired goals. He emphasized that students should strive to attain genuine
knowledge and competence, rather than focusing solely on achieving good exam
results.
He mentioned that success in life is not limited to
securing a good job, holding a high position, or attaining social status.
Instead, a primary objective for students should be to utilize their knowledge
and skills for the welfare of humanity and the development of the nation and
society. He added that if Bangladesh’s vast human resources and talented youth
are utilized effectively, they can play an important role in the country’s
development.
Addressing the students, he further advised them to
cultivate themselves into capable citizens through the proper use of time,
self-control, moral integrity, and perseverance. He also encouraged them to
maintain a strong relationship with Allah while remaining sincere in fulfilling
their respective responsibilities.
Special guests at the event included S. M. Farhad—General
Secretary (GS) of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and
Central Publicity Secretary of Chhatra Shibir—along with Hafez Abu Musa, the
organization’s Central Dawah Secretary; Dr. Muhammad Atiar Rahman, former
Vice-Chancellor of Rangamati Science and Technology University and a professor
in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of
Chattogram; and several other distinguished guests.
The event was presided over by the President of the
Chattogram Metropolitan North unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir. The
event was moderated by Khurram Murad, secretary of the organization’s North
Metropolitan branch.
According to the organizers, one of the primary objectives
of the event was to foster the intellectual development, moral character, and
personality of the students, while also encouraging them to become future
leaders. During the program, speakers urged the students to maintain a
consistent record of academic excellence and to enrich themselves with
knowledge, skills, ethics, and human values, so that they may contribute to the
welfare of the nation and society. They also extended their best wishes for the
students’ bright future.
