As an initiative to recognize ten outstanding young individuals from Bangladesh, JCI Bangladesh officially launched the "Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Bangladesh (TOYP) 2026" on Thursday (September 10).
The campaign was unveiled at “JCI Bangladesh TOYP 2026: The Prelude – Official Campaign Launch and Media Engagement”** in Dhaka, bringing together JCI leaders, members, media professionals, partners, stakeholders and distinguished guests.
The JCI TOYP programme is a globally recognised initiative that celebrates young people who demonstrate excellence, integrity, innovation, resilience and a strong commitment to creating positive change.
In Bangladesh, the initiative seeks to recognise not only outstanding achievements but also the journeys behind them—stories of young people who have overcome adversity, broken barriers, challenged conventional thinking and continued to make a difference in their communities and professions.
The 10 honourees will be selected from diverse backgrounds and professional fields, reflecting the contributions of young Bangladeshis who have influenced industries, strengthened communities, introduced innovative ideas, created opportunities and inspired others.
National Secretary General Sinan Arefeen introduced the TOYP programme at the launch, highlighting its global history and evolution as a platform for recognising young leaders and changemakers.
“TOYP is not about celebrating success for the sake of success. It is about recognising people who stood tall against all odds and made a meaningful difference in their own fields. Their journeys remind us that impact is often built through resilience, conviction and the courage to continue when the path is difficult,” said Arefeen Raafi Ahmed, National President of JCI Bangladesh for 2026.
Advisor to the National President Erfan Haque said the initiative aims to ensure that outstanding stories from across the country receive recognition.
“We want nominations to come from every corner of Bangladesh so that deserving stories are not left unheard. By bringing these journeys forward, we hope to celebrate achievement, highlight stories of resilience and impact, and inspire many more people across the country,” he said.
Zafir Shafiee Chowdhury, Event Director, said JCI Bangladesh is committed to inspiring young people to dream bigger and contribute meaningfully to society.
“JCI Bangladesh is working relentlessly to inspire the youth and encourage them to dream big. By sharing the stories of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Bangladesh, we want young people to see what is possible, believe in their own potential and aspire to create meaningful impact in their own fields,” he said.
Through TOYP 2026, JCI Bangladesh aims to bring forward stories that deserve to be seen, heard and remembered. The initiative is designed not only to honour outstanding accomplishments but also to inspire a new generation to lead with integrity, persevere through challenges and contribute to society.
Eligible individuals aged 18 to 40 can be nominated for TOYP 2026. Nominees will be evaluated on the basis of their achievements, leadership, impact, integrity, resilience and contributions to society.
The deadline for nominations is September 30, 2026.
