Five graduating students at Chittagong University (CU) secured job placement offers on the spot across key entry-level and early-career tiers at a day-long career fest hosted by Nagad, the digital financial service provider of the Bangladesh Post Office, a press release said.
In collaboration with the MBA Association of the University of Chittagong (MAUC), Nagad organised its campus career and recruitment drive, “Nagad Navigate: Shape Your Future,” on Wednesday at the BBA Auditorium, CU.
The event witnessed spontaneous participation from hundreds of eager students who gathered early in the morning to explore career pathways in the FinTech industry. Nagad HR Recruitment Panel conducted on-site CV screenings, candidate evaluations, and direct interviews for positions including Territory Officers / Territory Managers (TO/TM), Sales Team members, and Nagad’s flagship internship program, N-Risers. A big number of students submitted their resumes during the session.
Expressing her excitement after receiving an instant offer, interviewee Farhana Alam Nipa said, “Getting hired right on campus feels surreal. The seamless process and direct feedback from the HR leaders gave me immense confidence.”
Another successful candidate, Md Ridoy, shared, “This platform not only gave us job opportunities but also offered direct clarity on what top corporate employers expect from fresh graduates.”
Highlighting Nagad’s commitment to youth development, Nagad’s Senior Associate Administrator Syed Himyanuddin Ahmed commented, “Through such an initiative, our goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs. Seeing the enthusiasm and potential of Chittagong University students reinforces our belief in nurturing homegrown talent.” Ahmed Himianuddin Ahmed led an AI session, during which students won prizes by participating in the Q&A segment.
ANM Wazed Ali, vice-president of the MBA Association of the University of Chittagong, said, “Students outside Dhaka often face limited corporate exposure. By bringing on-the-spot interviews, CV screenings, and career guidance directly to our campus, Nagad has redefined traditional hiring practices. This collaboration between academia and the FinTech sector will not only boost student confidence but also help corporates identify top-tier talent early on.”
Throughout the day, students engaged in various specialised knowledge-sharing sessions, including “MFS: The Future of Digital Careers”, “Professionalism That Elevates”, “Resume That Wins”, and “Shape the Future: How AI is Transforming Careers”. Besides, personalised one-to-one career counselling sessions were held, where experienced HR professionals guided candidates on resume optimisation and workplace readiness.
Adding a vibrant layer to the professional event, students enthusiastically took part in interactive quiz competitions and recreational activities, including foosball and PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming sessions.
Before this initiative at Chittagong University, Nagad successfully conducted a similar on-campus placement drive through a job fair at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), where interns were directly recruited as part of its ongoing nationwide youth empowerment initiative.
