Fashion and lifestyle brand ‘Twelve’ has launched the ‘Face of Twelve’ initiative, offering an opportunity for individuals to become models, regardless of conventional limitations such as age, height, weight, or body type. Organized in collaboration with the Azra Mahmood Talent Camp (AMTC), this initiative aims to discover fresh faces from among the general public. Those selected will have the opportunity to serve as lead models for the brand, a press release said.
Under this initiative, factors such as age, gender, skin tone, height, weight, or body type will not be barriers to participation. Instead, the focus will be on each individual’s unique style, personality, and self-confidence. Even those who have never modeled before—or never imagined themselves as models—are encouraged to participate. Through this, the brand seeks to make fashion more inclusive and ensure representation for people from diverse backgrounds and professions.
Motiur Rahman, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Twelve, stated that as a fashion brand, they want their clothing to be showcased by individuals with whom customers can identify. The goal is for customers to see the garments and feel that they are well-suited for them, too. Through ‘Face of Twelve,’ the brand aims to bring forward people of various ages, body types, and personal styles.
Selected models will enter into a two-year exclusive contract with Twelve. During this period, they will receive a monthly salary and participate in the brand’s various campaigns and product shoots. Furthermore, to enhance their professional skills, they will receive training in modeling and content creation under the direct supervision of Azra Mahmood. The program will also include grooming and fitness training.
Additionally, selected models will receive fashion products from Twelve each season. They—along with their family members—will also be entitled to special discounts. By combining training, regular work opportunities, and financial compensation, this initiative aims to help newcomers advance in the modeling profession. Azra Mahmood, head of AMTC, expressed her delight that this initiative offers new models an opportunity to prove their capabilities—an opportunity she herself did not have when she started. She noted that even today, consistent work opportunities remain limited for those entering the modeling industry. While such initiatives are common abroad, this is a new development in Bangladesh.
According to ‘Twelve,’ fashion is for everyone. Through ‘Face of Twelve,’ the brand aims to bring this belief to life, while also discovering new talent, providing training, and creating opportunities for regular work.
