Emirates SkyCargo, cargo transportation division from Emirates, has strengthened its South American network by introducing seven additional weekly freighter flights since March 2026, supporting significant export growth across Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador, a press release said.
The additional services include three weekly flights to Buenos Aires, one to Bogota, two to Sao Paulo and one to Quito. These expanded operations have contributed to year-on-year export growth of 57% in Argentina, 22% in Brazil, 18% in Colombia and 14% in Ecuador.
Fresh perishables remain a key commodity. Since April 2024, Emirates SkyCargo has transported nearly 80,000 tonnes of perishables from the four markets, including 66,000 tonnes of flowers.
Since April 2024, Emirates SkyCargo has transported approximately 60,000 tonnes of exports from Ecuador, with flowers accounting for more than 90% of the country’s export cargo. During the same period, the carrier has moved nearly 14,000 tonnes of exports from Colombia, supporting the country’s flower and fresh produce exporters. From Argentina, it has transported approximately 5,000 tonnes of exports, including fresh fruit, salmon and meat products. Meanwhile, shipments from Brazil have reached close to 20,000 tonnes, covering a diverse range of commodities and strengthening the country’s access to international markets.
