Southeast Bank PLC’s Business Review Conference for the
Dhaka and Mymensingh Regions was successfully held on 05 September 2026. The
Business Review Conference was held with the objective of aligning the
strategic business goals of the Dhaka and Mymensingh Regions, addressing
various operational challenges, and formulating forward-looking action plans to
achieve sustainable business growth, a press release said.
The conference was attended by Southeast Bank PLC’s
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Md. Khalid Mahmud Khan;
Additional Managing Directors; Deputy Managing Directors; the Regional Head of
the Dhaka Region; senior executives from the Head Office; heads of various
departments of the Bank; branch managers from the Dhaka and Mymensingh Regions;
and other officials.
The conference included a detailed review of the Bank’s
business performance and operational activities up to June 2026 in line with
the approved budget. Discussions covered budget achievement analysis, the
status and strategies for non-performing loan recovery, loan recovery plans,
branch-level targets, and opportunities for expanding the retail banking
business. Emphasis was placed on expanding the Home Loan, Personal Loan, and
Credit Card portfolios.
Non-Performing Loan (NPL) recovery was identified as a top
priority at the conference. In this regard, branch managers were advised to
implement realistic loan recovery plans, strengthen engagement with borrowers,
and take appropriate and timely legal measures when necessary.
In his opening remarks, Md. Khalid Mahmood Khan, Managing
Director & CEO of Southeast Bank PLC, who joined the event virtually, urged
all branch managers to ensure a compliance-based banking environment by
properly adhering to regulatory guidelines, further enhance the quality of
customer service, and identify new and promising customer segments to expand
the Bank’s retail banking business.
Highlighting the Bank’s long-term strategies and future
plans, he said that the Bank is placing particular emphasis on pursuing
targeted business initiatives, reducing NPLs and strengthening loan recovery
efforts, expanding its retail banking footprint, and further strengthening its
base of stable and low-cost deposits.
In his concluding remarks, Abidur Rahman Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO (Current Charge) He also called upon all concerned to work collectively with sincerity, innovative thinking, professionalism, and accountability to achieve the Bank’s strategic objectives and business goals.
