ICC Bangladesh organized a day-long workshop on International Trade Financing following LDC Graduation in Chattogram on 29 August. Dr. Shah Md. Ahsan Habib, Professor of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) conducted the workshop, a press release said.
Mohammed Amirul Haque, President, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) attended the closing session as the Chief Guest and distributed certificates among the participants. He said that Bangladesh would face significant challenges following its graduation. He also cautioned that Bangladesh’s LDC graduation would create significant challenges for the banking sector as well as the business community. Therefore, we the businesses look forward to work with the government in formulating appropriate strategy to face the challenges after graduation. He expressed the hope that the participants had benefited from attending the workshop and gained a clear understanding of the actions needed to prepare themselves to effectively address the challenges ahead.
ICCB Secretary General Ataur Rahman thanked the banks for nominating their officials to attend the Workshop. He also thanked Eastern Bank and Prime Bank for nominating some of their clients to attend workshop. A total of 63 participants from 19 banks, including 12 clients of Eastern Bank and Prime Bank participated in the workshop.
