The International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) marked its 20th Anniversary at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel, Dhaka, bringing together distinguished diplomats, business leaders, academics, media representatives, and members of civil society, a press release said.
The event began with the National Anthem, followed by a presentation showcasing IBFB’s 20-year journey and its continued efforts to promote a better business environment in Bangladesh through research, policy dialogue, and advocacy.
In her welcome address, Ms. Lutfunnisa Saudia Khan, President of IBFB, highlighted the organization’s key achievements over the past two decades and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public–private dialogue for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
H.E. Brent T. Christensen, Ambassador of the United States to Bangladesh, attended as Guest of Honour and stated that Bangladesh has strong potential for further economic growth through enhanced cooperation and private-sector-led development. He also remarked that the recently signed treaty between the United States and Bangladesh will be beneficial for Bangladesh.
The program was also attended by H.E.. Ramis Şen, Ambassador of Türkiye; H.E. Ghanshyam Bhandari, Ambassador of Nepal; H.E. Jameel bin Haji bin Ismaeel Al Balushi, Ambassador of Oman; H.E. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Ambassador of Vietnam; Mitchell Lee, Chargé d’Affaires of Singapore; H.E. Haji Haris Othman, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam; H.E. U Kyaw Soe Moe, Ambassador of Myanmar; H.E. Shiuneen Rasheed, High Commissioner of Maldives; Takahashi Naoki, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Japan; John Fluharty, Resident Program Director, International Republican Institute (IRI); and Abdul Rahim Khan, Hon’ble Administrator of FBCCI, Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, Founding President, IBFB, Hafizur Rahman Khan, Past President, IBFB and Humayun Rashid, Immediate Past President, IBFB.
The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, cultural performances, a group photo session, and dinner. Participants appreciated IBFB’s continued role as a credible, non-partisan platform dedicated to advancing Bangladesh’s business and investment climate.
