North South University’s (NSU) Department of Architecture inaugurated “Archi Kori 2026,” the first-ever Architecture Alumni Festival organized by the North South University Architecture Alumni Association (NSUAAA) on 30 July 2026 at Audi-801, NSU. The landmark festival brings together alums from all graduating batches, current students, faculty members, distinguished architects, and industry professionals to celebrate architectural excellence and foster professional collaboration, a press release said.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Zakaria Taher Suman, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, who attended as the Chief Guest.
He was joined by a roster of distinguished guests, including Benjir Ahmed, Member and Former Chairman of the North South University Board of Trustees; Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University; Ar. Md. Asifur Rahman Bhuiyan, Chief Architect, Department of Architecture, Government of Bangladesh; Dr. Md. Maruf Hossain, Education Secretary, Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB); Ar. Shahriar Iqbal Raj, Chair of the Department of Architecture, NSU; and J. M. Hasanuzzaman, President of the NSUAAA.
The primary objective of Archi Kori 2026 is to reconnect alums, showcase their creative and professional milestones, and establish a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange among students, academics, and practicing architects.
The festival features a comprehensive exhibition of completed and conceptual architectural projects, competition entries, research works, interior design, and furniture design by the Department of Architecture at NSU and its alumni. The overarching program includes alum lectures, technical workshops, panel discussions, and faculty recognition ceremonies designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice.
Following the formal inauguration, distinguished guests officially opened the exhibition. The festival will continue through August 4, offering attendees a series of interactive sessions focusing on architectural education, professional leadership, research, and the future of urban development in Bangladesh.
Participating graduates showcased their diverse professional achievements, reaffirming their commitment to building a better Bangladesh and establishing a firm foothold in the global architectural arena.
“We believe that Archi Kori 2026 will not only strengthen the bond among the Department of Architecture, NSU alumni, faculty, and students, but will also serve as a vital platform for advancing architectural education and meaningful dialogue on the future of our built environment,” said a spokesperson for the NSUAAA organizers.
