Pubali Bank PLC. organized an awareness program titled “Cashless Dhanmondi” with the initiative of Dhanmondi branch with the slogan লেনদেন হচ্ছে ক্যাশলেস, এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ with the aim of expanding digital transactions nationwide and implementing ‘এক দেশ এক QR লেনদেন Bangla QR’, The program held at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi discussed the convenience, security and digital financial inclusion of cashless transactions. State Minister for Planning Md. Jonayed Abdur Rahim Saki M.P. was present as the Chief Guest at the program. Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Arief Hossain Khan and former Managing Director of Pubali Bank Md. Abdul Halim Chowdhury were present as Special Guests. Pubali Bank Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Ali delivered the welcome speech at the program. Deputy Managing Director of the bank Md. Shahnewaz Khan, General Manager and Regional Head of Dhaka North Region A.K.M. Abdur Raqib, Deputy General Manager and Head of Alternative Delivery Channel Division Md. Rabiul Alam, along with executives of the bank’s head office, customers and invited guests were also present at the event.
The speakers at the event said, “By using Bangla QR, it is possible to make easy, safe and fast digital transactions from different banks and mobile financial services with the same QR code. The government is working to reduce the use of cash and develop a technology-based financial system. Pubali Bank’s ‘Cashless Dhanmondi’ initiative is commendable in implementing this goal and such initiatives will further strengthen the country’s digital economy.”
After the discussion, the guests present participated in an awareness program on cashless transactions and urged everyone to come forward to expand digital transactions through the use of Bangla QR.
